The Chicago Sky selected DePaul guard Amarah Coleman with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft, held Thursday evening at Nike New York Headquarters.
Coleman, a 5-foot-11 graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, played her freshman season at Illinois before transferring to DePaul. In her senior season with the Blue Demons, she was named Most Outstanding Player of Big East Tournament, scoring a career-high 27 points in a title game win over Marquette.
Selected by the Sky with the fourth pick of the third round, Coleman was the third player to be drafted by the team in the 2018 WNBA Draft. In the first round, the Sky selected Diamond DeShields and Gabby Williams with the No. 3 and No. 4 overall selections.
The Chicago Sky tips off the 2018 season on the road against the Indiana Fever on May 19 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, before hosting the New York Liberty for an event-filled home opener at Wintrust Arena on May 20.
