2015 Season in Review: Betnijah Laney

Betnijah Laney, a 6-foot forward from Rutgers University, was selected as the 17th overall pick by the Chicago Sky in the 2015 WNBA Draft. In her rookie season, Laney saw action in 32 games while starting in two.

She began the 2015 season setting her season high in rebounds. In the second game of Laney’s WNBA career, she totaled a season-best eight rebounds at Connecticut (6/11). Later in the season, Laney recorded her season-high 12 points in the Sky’s 106-82 victory over Indiana.

Laney was the second most-played rookie on the Sky’s roster, as she averaged 12.9 minutes a game. She also played in more games last season than any other rookie on the team. Among all rookies in the league in 2015, Laney ranked 15th in rebounds per game (2.1).
