Week 6: Reavis Rams

The Chicago Sky has selected Reavis High School as the sixth “High School Team of the Week” winner for its 2015 competition. They earned the honor after being nominated for outstanding efforts and achievements within their team and the local community.

The Reavis Rams compete in the IHSA’s South Suburban Conference. The varsity team is in the midst of one of its most successful seasons in program history. The Rams are currently 17-2 and hold a perfect 6-0 record in conference play. As the team enters the final stretch of the season, it will rely on teamwork and an all-around effort to finish atop the conference.

Away from the basketball court, Reavis athletes are exceptional students and community members. As a team, the Rams maintain a cumulative 3.5 GPA, with each member of the starting five boasting a GPA of 3.6 or higher. Additionally, nearly every Rams player is an Honor Roll or National Honor Society member. Outside of school hours, the girls dedicate their time to volunteer work. Several Reavis athletes serve as teaching assistants for a local CCD program, where they spend their Sundays reading to elementary school children and assisting with class projects.

Reavis High School joins Oswego High School, Luther North College Prep, Glenbard East High School, Beecher High School, and J. Sterling Morton High School as 2015 award recipients. As a Chicago Sky “High School Basketball Team of the Week” honoree, the Reavis Rams are invited to enjoy a Chicago Sky game, where they will have the opportunity to watch the world’s best female basketball players. During the game, they will be recognized on the court.
